Franklin Lakes Town Fair
Saturday, Sept. 30, 2006

The town fair is an annual event which is always a good time. This year the weather was good most of the day, a few sprinkles, but, the fair went on. The kids enjoy the rides, the games and good food. Our post served up sausage heroes and plenty of cool drinks.

The organization and running the fair is a cooperative effort by the town and many community groups. As always, the police, fire and ambulance corps. were there working and taking part in the festivities. There's a lot to be done by all, but the employees of the Public Works Department put in a lot of hours. They help all the vendors, keep the grounds clean and do it all in a cheerful manner. Thank you to Brian Peterson and his crew.

The fair is a time for all local residents and community based groups to come together and enjoy the day. We saw a lot of old friends, made some new ones and enjoyed ourselves. The members of our post are proud to be a participant each year.

A special thanks to the Mayor and Council for sponsoring the event.

See you all next year!

If anyone would like to donate to our 2007/20068 projects it would be very helpful. This year we are raising money for the Fisher House Foundation at Walter Reed Hospital and for The Wounded Warrior Project.
