Franklin Lakes VFW Post 5702 was proud to have participated in three Memorial Day Parades and two Memorial Day Ceremonies in May 2008.
On Sunday, May 25, 2008 members of VFW Post 5702 proudly participated in the Oakland, NJ Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony.
At 9:00 A.M. on Memorial Day, May 26, 2008 members of Post 5702 marched in the Franklin Lakes, NJ Memorial Day Parade and participated in the ceremony following the procession. Post 5702 organizes the parade and ceremony in Franklin Lakes each year and serves refreshments at the post following the ceremony. The Memorial Day activities were aptly coordinated and supervised by Post Advocate Dominic Stimola. Post 5702 member Frank Christie was honored as the Parade’s Grand Marshall.
At 11:00 A.M on May 26, 2008, Post 5702 members marched in the Wyckoff Memorial Day Parade. Unable to arrive in time to observe Wyckoff’s entire ceremony due to time constraints, military honors were paid to our fallen brethren as Post 5702’s Color Guard marched past the Wyckoff Memorial.
