Here's what's happening at the Post:
Memorial Day 2009
Photos from Franklin Lakes,
Oakland and Wyckoff Parades
The VFW Post 5702 Color Guard proudly marched in the Oakland Memorial Day Parade on Sunday May 24, 2009, and participated in the solemn ceremony that followed the Oakland parade.
On Memorial Day, May 25, 2009, the Post 5702 Color Guard stepped off at Commerce Street at 9 AM and led the Franklin Lakes Memorial Day Parade. The ceremony held at Post 5702 that followed the parade had an even deeper meaning for post members. Frank DeFino, a beloved and recently departed comrade, was honored posthumously as the Parade’s Grand Marshall.
Following the Franklin Lakes Parade and Ceremony, the Color Guard moved on to Wyckoff and proudly marched in Wyckoff’s parade.
If anyone would like to donate to our 2007/2008 projects it would be very helpful. This year we are raising money for the Fisher House Foundation at Walter Reed Hospital and for The Wounded Warrior Project.
