On January 8, 2005, members of the post sponsored a Bingo Game at the Paramus Veteran's Home. This event is run every other month at the home. On this day, student volunteers from the Franklin Avenue Middle School assisted us. The students helped residents get from their rooms to the bingo area and assisted those who needed help in playing bingo. It was a good day and an enjoyable event.

If anyone would like to donate to our 2007/20068 projects it would be helpful. This year we are raising money for the Fisher House Foundation at Walter Reed Hospital and for the Wounded Warrior Project.

  Both organizations help wounded soldiers and their families. In addition, both groups rely solely on charitable donations. If you would like to help, please make your check payable to VFW 5702, POB 289, Franklin Lakes, NJ 07417. In the memo section, write Commanders Project.

On January 7, 2006, the officers and members of VFW 5702 presented Joseph Schreiber Sr. (Post Service Officer) with a plaque for his volunteer service at the Paramus Veteran's Home. Joe has been a member of the Post for over thirteen years and has been tireless in his efforts at the Home. His hard work has made a big difference in the lives of many veterans' living at the Home.
