There's also information about Post functions such as parades, ceremonies, car shows, senior citizen dinners, as well as information for those individuals and groups who wish to rent the Post for parties or events. In addition, the site allows local residents to ~ easily access information about upcoming events and contact information on membership applications.
The site also includes data about the history and mission of the VFW; the organizations and charities Post 5702 supports, as well as a special section for middle school and high school students.
According to Post member Dominic Stimola, "High school students in Ramapo and Indian Hills High Schools interested in the Voice of Democracy Essay Contest can find basic information on our site about the Voice of Democracy competition, as well as a link to the National VFW site that has more detailed information;' The section for students also has some original short stories written by Post member Doug Neralich, which are appropriate for middle and high school students that can be accessed for enrichment or to help prepare students for New Jersey State Testing programs.
As stated by Commander Vreeland, "We have been developing this site for a number of months. Our Web master, Theresa Rissmeyer (www.TRosedesign.com; resaosedesign.com) of Fair Lawn, has donated her services to help. In her words she did so to 'give something back to the veterans who live in this area. Visit the site at http://www.vfwpost5702.org .
