Fred C. Underhill Elementary School
Hooksett New Hampshire
On November 8, 2006, I was invited to participate in the Veteran's Day activities at the Underhill school. The children in the kindergarten classes were learning about the flag and Veteran's Day.
The students had made posters prior to the 8 th , which listed the names of people in their families who had served in the U.S. military. I brought along some of our post's memorabilia from WWI and some MRE's. The helmet and campaign hat were a hit. The MRE, amusing to say the least.
If you are wondering how I came to be invited to and event in New Hampshire, well, my daughter, Kelda M. York, is a teacher at the school. The time I spent at the school was very enjoyable. It was a pleasure to meet the staff and see first hand how hard they work to educate our children.
Thanks for inviting me and I hope to be back next year. Steve Vreeland

If anyone would like to donate to our 2007/20068 projects it would be very helpful. This year we are raising money for the Fisher House Foundation at Walter Reed Hospital and for The Wounded Warrior Project.
